The allocation of students to tutorial groups is given here.
If you have a good reason for wanting to change your tutorial group, please see Dr. Farrow. However, there is likely to be limited scope for changes if we are to keep the numbers close to being equal in the groups.
Lecture notes
Lecture notes will be posted below, together with solutions to
tutorial exercises. They are in pdf format and you will need Acrobat
Reader to view them - click on the link to download your own (free)
copy.
You should print out and read lecture notes before each lecture
and attempt tutorial questions before each tutorial session -
solutions will be posted after the final tutorial session each
week. The notes and solutions currently available are shown in red
below.
An attendance register will be taken at each tutorial. Please note
that a good attendence record will be taken into account when deciding

Assessment
The assessment of the module consists of a 2 hour examination at the end
of Semester 2 (60%) and an assignment in each semester (20% each).
Obviously I can't show you this year's exam but you can get a copy of
last year's exam paper from the university's exam site.
In fact I have made last year's papers available here for AEF258 and MAS187 . Solutions to some of the questions on the MAS187 paper are available. This year's exam will be closer in style to last year's MAS187 exam than to last year's AEF258 exam but will may be some differences between the exams for the two modules.
The exam for MAS187 will be OPEN BOOK. The exam for AEF258 will not be open book but a formula sheet will be provided. Here is a copy of the formula sheet.
