Switzerland: 2004 Summer
Lucerne

From Interlaken to Lucerne. The train route on the desk was designed like half of a clock. The whole route is around the half circle with names of train stations. The four lakes are denoted by blue color and there are two lakes (with mark of ferry) which you can travel by boat. For example, we went back to Interlaken by took boat from Lucerne to Alpnachatad. But there was no direct train from Alpnachatad to Interlaken, you had to transfer in Sarnen. Anyway, this picturesque illustration was the most interesting stuff I have found in the train. It also reminded me the foumous Swiss watch.   Train route on desk
Chapel Bridge Chapel Bridge in Lucerne, dating from 1333, is Lucerne's best-know landmark, famous for its distinctive water tower and the spectacular 1993 fire that nearly destroyed it.
Lion Monument, carved in natural rock in 1820 and dedicated to the Swiss soldiers who died in the French Revolution.   Lucerne Lion
Reuss River Reuss River, we found that there was flea market along the river.
Dock of Lake Lucerne with flowers, you can also find that rail stations are decorated with flowers, wooden houses in the valley with flowers. Switzerland is full of flowers .   Lake Lucerne Dock
Lake Luzerne Beautiful Lake Luzerne. I have taken many pictures in Lake Luzerne, but this is the one I like mostly. Deep green water surrounded by forest, it is like fairyland as I have expected.
Rail and wheel of Mountain Train. Isn't like the clockwork spring of watch? The Switzerland was famous for its great watch. In my opinion, its richness depends more on the tour strategy built on the base of watch. The train route illustrated on the clock-like desk (of course the most helpful information are got through the net of informaiton offices all over the country), the mountain rail which turned the poor mountain area into a rich country. The Swiss develope their distinctive tour kingdom using their ability and wisdom.   Rail of Mountain Train
