| In July 2004, Jiangping and I went to Switzerland from Paris to Geneva by train of SNCF TGV. Before you go to Switzerland, you can check the tourist information on the web MySwitzerland. As for accommodation, we went to Swiss Backpackers. Another good choice is Bed & Breakfast, but it is very busy in summer. We bought Swiss Pass offered by "Swiss travel System" which allows travelers unlimitted travel by train, post bus and boat. If you are two or more than two people travelling together, you can buy Swiss Saver Pass which has 15% discount. It is great to travel by train using Swiss Pass not only because it saves you money (the train tickets are expensive in Switzerland) but also because there are many "scenic routes". We started our travel from Geneva to Lucerne ("Golden Pass Line") and back to Geneva combined by train and boat. |
