宝宝的英文名字取作“Maria”，因为出生的那天碰到的第一个助产土名字叫Maria，最后接生(用真空吸引器把宝宝吸出来)的医生的名字也叫Maria，田田爸以前曾说过宝宝的英文名字就依接生的人的名字取。再者Maria是圣母玛丽亚的名字，还是欧洲很多位皇后的名字，还是不错的。中文名字本来想叫“田田”，来自“江南可采莲，莲叶何田田”，可是有人说重音的名字等小孩大了不好叫，所以把“田田”取作小名。

• The story of Maria reading book (wrote on 30 October 2006)
女儿田田十九个月大了，她是个爱听大人读书讲故事的小女孩。每天晚上睡觉前和早上醒来后她都要我给她读书讲故事。儿童书里的喵（猫）、汪汪（狗）、呱呱（青蛙）、吱吱（老鼠）和嘎嘎（鸭子）等小动物她都很喜欢。白天她爱抱着她的睡衣，因为睡衣上有她喜欢的喵（猫）的图案！看，在她满十九个月的这一天晚上，她因为白天玩累了，抱着自己的睡衣在客厅的秋千上睡着了。我抱着她上床，可是没几分钟，她又醒了，嘴里喊着：“鲁鲁，鲁鲁......”。

...从16:30开始疼痛时腰下一截有酸胀感，宫缩间隙有明显胎动。17:45开始宫缩时有点想吐，而且宫缩频率越来越密，如17:45, 17:47, 17:53, 17:58, 18:02, 18:09各有宫缩。田田爸起床后，我跟他说了宫缩的情况，决定先洗个澡然后吃饭后去医院。洗澡时发现有好多血流下来，跟月经期间洗澡时流血的情况差不多。田田爸说赶紧去医院，不要吃饭了...

This book describes different actions of little babies, like "This little baby says hello", "This little baby is ready to go.", "This little baby plays with his toys.", "This little baby makes a lot of noise.", "This little baby lays down for a rest."
At the end of the book, there is a mirror and a sentence "This little baby is the one I love best!". Maria enjoys this book very much. She does corresponding actions when I read the book.

This book describes the whole day for the mouse family. The mouth went out for mouse house thing, tiny mouse and his sister and brother play in the garden, mouse siter and brother also help mother in the garden.
They sing songs when it is raining to wait for sunshine, have picnic on the top of mushroom, have great supper, father tells story when mouse children go to bed. What a busy and happy day for the whole family.

We have bought more than 50 books for Maria and us, some are new, some are second-hand books, but all are in good condition. I hope that I have time to list these books here someday.
• Story Circle Print-out books from CBeebies
There are many books that you can print out and colour them from CBeebies's Story Circle. Print out the story and read the instructions to make the book your own.

• Where to buy cheap book

The Works is the bookshop where you can buy discount new books. I have bought "Winne the Pooh" for only 3.5 pounds, the publish price is 19.99 pounds, unbelievable! If you live in London, you can go to 'Banana Bookshop’ which is located in a converted warehouse in Covent Garden, it is same as The Works.

British Heart foundation has charity shops which may have second-hand children books. Usualy it costs 50 pence for one book, for big book, sometimes it costs 3 pounds for one book. You can search nearby shops on website. In Newcastle upon Tyne, the stop on 69 Clayton street (postcode NE1 5PY) has many children books.

Cancer Research UK also has chrity shops which sell second-hand books. But not all shops have children books, you have to call in some shops to have a look. The one nearby where I live (10 Gosforth Center) have children books available: sometimes 3 books for one pound, it is really cheap. The books are in well-condition. From the homepage of Cancer Reaserch, click "visiting a charity shop", you can find nearby shops.

OXfam Bookshop has wide range second-hand books, but is is more expensive than the above shops. Usually one book costs from 99 pence. You can search what book they have from Online shop.

此书介绍了很多各国的优秀儿童故事，很多都是国内家长们不熟悉的，国内有引进的中文版，在国外的朋友还可以有机会读到原版。
其中介绍的淘气包埃米尔真是令我大笑不已，这还是瑞典的著名儿童故事，可是我在瑞典呆了2年多都不知道有这么好的故事。
