Main entrance of Louvre, glass pyramid designed by the Chinese-born American architect I.M. Pei. To avoid long queues outside the pyramid, you can enter via the Carrousel du Louvre shopping area, 99 rue de Rivoli and Palais Royal-Musee du Louvre metro station. But I don't know if you need ticket in advance by these two entrances (I went the Louvre the second time by Rivoli entrance on July 14, it is national day of France, so it is free that day). |
I got lost! The Louvre is divided into three sections: Sully (eastern end of the complex), Denon (stretches along the Seine to the south) and Richelieu (north wing along rue de Rivoli). Each section has four floors. We didn't finish all works this day. Fortunately, it was free on July 14, so we went there for second time. So please check the infromation of Louvre and go to what you really want to see. There is free but simple guide map "Louvre Plan/Information" at the information desk in the centre of the Hall Napoleon. |
Venus, one of the most famous works. Others are Mona Lisa and Winged Victory of Samothrace, etc. All the areas of these famous works are full of people. |
A corner in the suit of Napoleon III. Soft green tress and rose color lengthwise yarn implies that there are a group of fairies bathing in a lake behind the fence. |
Mirror has two faces. Even the desk and stool are made of glass. But how opulent it is, the ower of it has gone. Those who are alive, cherish what you are having. |
