Statistical Bioinformatics and Stochastic Systems Biology Workshop

Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th May 2009

Venue and Travel

The meeting will be held in Room 2.21 of the Research Beehive in the Old Library Building at Newcastle University. Maps are available.

Rail: Direct train services from many parts of the UK arrive at Newcastle Central Station.
Train times may be obtained from National Rail Enquiries.
The University is about 20 minutes walk or a short Metro or taxi ride from the station.

Metro: Newcastle has a Metro system. The nearest Metro station to the University is usually Haymarket. However during the week of the workshop Haymarket Metro Station is closed for alterations. The nearest Metro Station will be Jesmond. You can see the location of Jesmond Metro Station near the North East corner of the "Campus and City" map available from the link above. (Use the buttons to move around).

Jesmond station is, in fact, not much further from the venue than Haymarket but, whereas Haymarket is right across the street from the University, you can not see the University from Jesmond Station so the route is not so obvious. Go West along Jesmond Road until you cross the A167(M) Central Motorway by an underpass and then cross the Great North Road by the footbridge in front of the Robinson Library. Monument Metro station is also not far away. From there, follow Northumberland Street to the Haymarket. You can find both Metro stations and the Old Library Building, where the Workshop will be held, by exploring the interactive map.

Air: Metro trains from Newcastle Airport call at Jesmond and Monument stations.

Ferry: There is also ferry from the Netherlands.
