Post-Application Open Days

Part of my role on the School's Admissions and Recruitment Committee involves organising, and running, our Post-Application Open Days for prospective students. These usually take place in February-May each year, and include talks on the Maths and Statistics curriculum at Newcastle, student finance, careers, accommodation and the city. Applicants and their guests also attend mini lectures, a question-and-answer session hosted by staff and students, and take part in campus tours, accommodation tours and a guided bus tour of the city. In 2013 the University recognised our open days as examples of "exemplary practice".
