Topic 12: Survival Analysis (Week 14)

Aims

To understand the importance of the use of correct methods for the quantitative assessment of survival data, and to know some of the techniques used in this area.

Objectives

To understand the nature and general features of survival data

To understand and be able to interpret a survival curve

To know how the survival curve can be estimated by the Kaplan Meier plot.

To know in broad terms how to compare survival curves and to know what the log-rank does.

Study the document Survival Analysis, which explains the key ideas.
Answer the questions in Exercise Sheet 1.
You should check your answers by referring to the Solutions to Exercise Sheet 1.
