Graeme Sarson

My current Timetable (Semester 2, 2025-26) of regular classes and meetings.

Research

My research is largely on geophysical and astrophysical fluid dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), but I also work on the mathematical modelling of prehistoric population dynamics.

I currently co-supervise two PhD Students: Martin Gray and Beverley Linsley. Ten students I've supervised (or co-supervised) have completed PhDs: Alhashmi Darah (2006), Kate Davison (2008), Apichat Neamvonk (2009), David Ryan (2010), Fred Gent (2012), Kavita Gangal (2015), James Hollins (2018), Stephen Mason (2023), Devika Tharakkal (2023) and Rachadawan Darlai (2026).

Teaching

I currently (2025-26) teach: All course material for these modules will be posted to Canvas (registered student access only) at the appropriate time.

Administration

I am Deputy Head of School for Mathematics, Statistics & Physics.
