My current Timetable (Semester 2, 2023-24) of regular classes and meetings.

Research

My research is largely on geophysical and astrophysical fluid dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), but I also work on the mathematical modelling of prehistoric population dynamics.

I currently co-supervise three PhD Students: Rachadawan Darlai, Martin Gray and Beverley Linsley. Nine students I've supervised (or co-supervised) have completed PhDs: Alhashmi Darah (2006), Kate Davison (2008), Apichat Neamvonk (2009), David Ryan (2010), Fred Gent (2012), Kavita Gangal (2015), James Hollins (2018), Stephen Mason (2023) and Devika Tharakkal (2023).

Teaching

I currently (2023-24) teach: All course material for these modules will be posted to Canvas (registered student access only) at the appropriate time.

Administration

I am Deputy Head of School for Mathematics, Statistics & Physics.
